Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Your email address — used only to create your account, sign you in, and reset your password.
• Saved favorites — the donation spots you tap the heart on, stored against your account so they follow you between devices.
• Locations you submit — the name, address, coordinates, and item details you enter. Once approved these are shown publicly on the map.
• Donations you log — date, location name, item list, estimated value, and any note you add. Photos you scan are sent for analysis and are not stored by us.
• Reports you file — the reason you flagged a location, visible only to administrators.
• Team membership — the team you create or join, and its name.

What we don't collect

No advertising trackers, no data sold or shared with third parties, and no continuous location tracking. If you tap the locate button, your device position is used in your browser to sort nearby spots — it is never sent to us or stored.

What other people can see

Approved locations and their details are public. On the leaderboard, other signed-in people can see your display name (the first part of your email address by default) and your total donation points — never your email address, your individual receipts, or your saved places.

Third parties we use

Google Maps renders the map and provides directions. Our hosting and database provider stores your account and the records above. Donation photo scanning is processed by an AI provider and the image is not retained after the result is returned.

Deleting your data

You can remove favorites and logged donations from inside the app at any time. To delete your account and everything attached to it, email hello@donationdrops.app from your account address and we'll remove it.
